Congratulations to YLCGA Senior Champion Emma Brown on her performance at the R&A Womens Senior Amateur Championship at Frilford Heath.
Emma took 2nd place and the Silver Medal in the Championship behind Lara Tennant of the USA.
Emma shared the 54-hole lead on a four-over-par total of 224 alongside 2019 champion Lara Tennant but some errors on the back nine of the fourth round proved costly.
“There wasn’t anything I did that was too drastically wrong, but little misses rack up and that’s what happened,” said Emma who now has two second-place finishes to go with a pair of third-place performances. “But look, it’s another silver medal and I am more than happy. Congratulations to Lara. She played great and fully deserves the trophy.”

After discussion, the YLCGA Board agreed that there is an inconsistency between rules 1.2 ii) a) and b) of the current YLCGA Rules.
The Board further decided that rule 1.2 ii) a) will take precedence over rule 1.2 ii) b).
This takes place with immediate effect. (7 May 2026)
A more substantive review of all of the YLCGA Rules will be conducted at a later date

Lily Hirst (Huddersfield Golf Club) took the Leveret at Formby Ladies on Saturday with rounds of 75 & 73, then backed it up with a superb 71 & 70 at Delamere Forest to claim the Delamere Comboy Scratch which meant she won the overall Comboy Leveret title on Sunday. 👏
